James E. Mason ~ General Manager ~ jmason@plantationgolfcc.com

James is a  Management Professional with over 15 years experience in country clubs with an additional 15 plus years with distinctive restaurants and banquet facilities. James holds a  B.S. in  Business/Hospitality Management and a A.A.S. in Recreational & Leisure Management  from Johnson And Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. James is an active member of the Club Managers Association of America. He is a licensed Community Association Manager and Real Estate Sales Associate in the State of Florida. Before accepting the position at The Plantation as General Manager, James was the General Manager at Crown Colony Golf & Country Club in Ft. Myers.



Vicki Beck ~ Membership Director ~ vbeck@plantationgolfcc.com

Vicki is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and has lived in Florida for the past 4½ years. She attended Indiana University East majoring in Business. Before moving to Florida in 2004 she worked for the US Airways Pilots Union and Air Line Pilots Association as a Corporate Meeting Planner & Executive Assistant to the pilots on several of their committees.

After arriving in Florida, she accepted a position at The Whitney Education Group as a Corporate Meeting Planner. She moved to Naples and obtained a position with Coral Hospitality as an Executive Assistant. After 1½ years at the corporate office she accepted the Executive Assistant position to Doug Reed at The Quarry where she assisted him in opening The Golf Lodge at the Quarry and The Lake Lodge. She then transferred to The Plantation to become Executive Administrator & Membership Director.


 

Troy Speckman ~ Head Golf Professional ~ tspeckman@plantationgolfcc.com 

A graduate from Florida State University, Troy has been in the golfing industry for the past 14 years. He started at Boca West Country Club and quickly progressed to Assistant Professional. He spent 9 years in Boca Raton and then moved back to his native Ft. Myers where he was involved in opening a new private facility. Troy went on to The Club at Renaissance as the First Assistant Professional. Troy worked as First Assistant Professional at Arrowhead Golf Club in Naples. From there he moved to The Plantation where he is excited to be the Head Golf Professional.





Stuart Taylor ~ Golf Course Superintendent ~ staylor@plantationgolfcc.com

Stuart is orginally from Manchester, England. He attended the Cheshire College of Agriculture & Horticulture majoring in Sports Turf Management and Commercial Horticulture.

Having commenced his agronomic experience in England before relocating to Florida in 1989, Stuart has gained a great deal of experience with a wide range of grasses during his 28 years in the industry.

While employed as Golf Course Superintendent for the Stadium Course with the PGA Tour at TPC Prestancia in Sarasota, Stuart was responsible for course conditions during the televised American Express Invitational Senior PGA tour event for three consecutive years.

Subsequently Stuart was the Golf Course Superintendent at Riverwood Golf & Country Club, Port Charlotte a Golf Digest 4½ star facility (and voted amongst the ''Top Ten Places to Play' by Golf Magazine in 2000), for 9 years. The position at The Plantation represented a new career challenge in the responsibility for the establishment and grow-in of the golf course, utilizing paspalum turf, and working closely with Hurdzan-Fry to achieve the fine layout and turf conditions that have been successfully established.




Todd Blanton ~ Food & Beverage Director ~ tblanton@plantationgolfcc.com  

Todd is originally from Knoxville, TN and began his hospitality career in the ski resorts of Summit County, CO. After several years of resort hotel food & beverage operations, Todd moved to Florida to work with various golf resorts and hotels, including 5 years with the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, Florida.

Todd then entered the Cruise Ship Industry, where he sailed to 45 countries over his 5 years at sea as an officer in the food & beverage operations. After a brief time as Food & Beverage Director of the Hertfordshire Golf Club in Broxbourne, England he then returned to Florida, where he most recently spent three seasons with the Bonita Bay Group at Shadow Wood Country Club in Estero.

Utilizing a "hands-on" style of management, Todd works closely with the food & beverage team to ensure daily adherence to both departmental objectives and corporate directives, and enjoys spending time meeting members and guests while working to ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience during their time at The Plantation.




 Roger Turtch ~ Executive Chef ~ rturtch@plantationgolfcc.com
 
Roger is orginally from Pittsburgh, PA and has lived in Florida for over 20 years. Before moving to Florida, Roger was the Executive Chef at many locations including the Philadelphia Art Museum, Franklin Institute and the Pentagon in Washington DC.

Roger moved to Florida where he opened his own restaurant called Marianne's. During the first year of business the restaurant was awarded 3½ stars from the Ft. Myers News-Press. After selling the business, Roger worked as the Executive Chef of Legends Country Club, Copperleaf Country Club and most recently at Colonial Country Club before accepting the position of Executive Chef at The Plantation Golf & Country Club.
